Island Fire Volleyball Academy
(IFVA) Program Mission will be achieved by focusing on the attributes individual athletes must possess to be part of a successful team. In the course of developing these attributes, our athletes will become champions and learn lessons that go beyond volleyball to provide a solid foundation for virtually all of life’s pursuits. Champions are not always the winner of the final match, but champions put forth their absolute best effort in pursuit of victory. Our athletes shall understand the true meaning of being a teammate. Each team member must commit to achieving a common team goal. Personal sacrifice may be necessary as individual desires are put aside for the good of the team’s success. This is counter to the “Sports Center” mentality where individual athletes have become bigger than their teams, and making the news highlights on the ten o’clock news takes precedent over team success. Individual glory must take a backseat to team success every time and this will be IFVA’s focus. For a team to achieve championship status, each member must make a commitment to excellence. This commitment is not a part time endeavor, to be turned on and off depending on the mood or feeling of the day. Each athlete must continuously test their limitations to realize their full potential. Dedicating themselves to training toward jumping higher, hitting harder, moving faster, and continuously improving in all facets of the game, will pave the road to team success. As each athlete develops his or her skills individually, the team develops trust in one another, and the team develops the tools to play at a higher level. As each athlete is a member of a team, each team is a member of the academy. Our athletes, our parents and our staff shall seek continuous improvement in the academy’s image. As IFVA becomes known as the place to play Juniors volleyball, the best athletes and the best coaches will seek the opportunity to be associated with our academy. College Recruiters will make special efforts to scout our athletes. The IFVA shall be known nationally as having a National Caliber Program. |
